Arthur’s Pass Day Tour with TranzAlpine Train

Your driver will pick you up from your central city accommodation between 7:00–7:45am and take you to the railway station to begin one of the world’s most scenic train journeys aboard the iconic TranzAlpine.

Travel across the Canterbury Plains, through braided river valleys, and into the dramatic Southern Alps before disembarking at the small village of Arthur’s Pass to rejoin your driver.

Explore the alpine village, refuel at a mountain café, and keep an eye out for playful keas, the region’s famous alpine parrots.

Spend time immersed in the pristine wilderness of Arthur’s Pass National Park, surrounded by towering peaks and sweeping landscapes. Enjoy a gentle walk that offers an authentic taste of New Zealand’s wild beauty.

Continue with a stop at Kura Tawhiti–Castle Hill Conservation Area for striking limestone formations and memorable photo opportunities.

Visit a working sheep farm for a unique experience, including a working dog demonstration, sheep shearing, and afternoon tea, offering insight into high-country farming life.

Return to Christchurch at approximately 5:30pm with drop-off to your accommodation.
