Experience Kaikōura from a completely different perspective on this exciting full-day adventure from Christchurch. Combining a spectacular coastal journey with EcoZip's award-winning eco-tourism experience, this tour offers breathtaking scenery, thrilling zipline rides, and fascinating insights into the region's unique environment and conservation efforts.

Your day begins with pick-up from your central Christchurch accommodation between 7:00am and 7:45am. Travel north through rolling farmland and along a spectacular coastal highway where the Kaikōura Ranges rise dramatically from the Pacific Ocean.

Upon arrival in Kaikōura, enjoy some free time to explore the township or purchase lunch (own expense) before transferring to EcoZip’s Kaikōura base.

Your 3.5-hour EcoZip adventure begins with a scenic shuttle journey south, followed by a ride aboard a custom-built Unimog 4WD vehicle. Cross the braided streams of the Kahutara River and travel through the working landscapes of Rakanui Station while learning about the area’s history, wildlife, and conservation projects.

From here, prepare for an unforgettable zipline experience. Soar across five giant dual ziplines spanning more than 2 kilometres, taking in incredible bird’s-eye views of native forest, rolling farmland, rugged mountains, and the Pacific coastline. Throughout the experience, expert local guides share stories of the region and explain how EcoZip is helping restore sections of farmland back to native forest.

Following your EcoZip adventure, meet your driver for the return journey to Christchurch, arriving at approximately 7:00pm with drop-off at a central city location.
