Methven Alpine Village with hot pools

Your journey departs Christchurch at 0900am with pick up from city hotels.
We then travel to Methven through the Selwyn District and Rakaia Gorge. Methven is a small village located at the foot of the Southern Alps, and home to the Ōpuke Thermal Pools & Spa. Ōpuke offers a premium hot pools experience, alongside an exclusive day spa. Ōpuke's facilities are proudly carbon zero, with water sourced from the Rangitata River and pools heated entirely by solar energy. Sourced from the mountains and warmed by the sun!

The bathing experience is thoughtfully divided into two distinct areas: a vibrant, family-friendly zone, and a tranquil adults-only sanctuary. Guests can relax in the peaceful surroundings and enjoy food and beverages poolside, including service from the swim-up bar.

We have reserved a two hour session in the tranquillity pools. Following this session you are free to explore the rest of the complex as admission to the Discovery Pools is included in the tour price. Or, you can spend time in the charming town of Methven, visit the iconic Blue Pub or enjoy lunch at a local café.

Mid afternoon we depart Methven and travel back through the farming village of Rakaia to the Straight Eight Estate winery for a wine tasting experience.
We return to Christchurch approximately 6pm.

Please note - all Tranquillity and Solar Tub guests must be 18 or over and carry an acceptable form of ID.

Please bring your own swim wear. Towels are provided at Opuke Thermal Pools.
