Your day begins with pick-up from your central city Christchurch accommodation between 7:00am and 7:30am.
Travel north along the spectacular Kaikoura Coast, where the Kaikoura Ranges meet the Pacific Ocean. Visit the Kaikoura fur seal colony at Point Kean.
Board your whale watching vessel for a 2.5-hour cruise in search of the mighty sperm whale. Expert marine guides will share knowledge of these magnificent creatures and the unique underwater canyon that draws them to Kaikoura year-round.
Follow the coastline south back to Christchurch, arriving at approximately 7:00pm.

Your day begins with pick-up from your central city Christchurch accommodation between 7:00am and 7:45am. Travel north through scenic coastal and rural landscapes.

Upon arrival in Kaikoura, board your whale watching vessel for a 2.5-hour cruise into deep offshore waters. These nutrient-rich waters support a remarkable diversity of marine life year-round.

After your cruise, enjoy free time in Kaikoura to explore the township, browse local shops, or relax at one of the town’s cafes.

Before departing, visit a nearby fur seal colony, where New Zealand fur seals can often be seen resting and playing among the rocks.

Begin your return journey to Christchurch, arriving at approximately 6:30pm with drop-off at a central city location.
